Hey Sunshine,
1. Find a quiet spot
2. Sit or lie down.
3. Take 3 deep breaths from your belly ( as you inhale belly goes up, down on exhale)
Relax deeper with each breath.
4. Breath normally and focus on your breaths
As you breath in repeat a mantra such as "Om" or "Ram," or whatever works for you.
5. As you exhale, count the breath "1"
The point of meditation is to create silence in the mind. NO Thoughts!
Until your able to train your mind, through much practice, many thoughts will come as you meditate. Let then come! Do not fight these thoughts, just Watch them. Let them pass, do not feed into them.
The minute you catch yourself thinking thoughts, go back to focusing on your breathing.
Once you get the hang of it, you'll be able to meditate no matter where you are or what your doing.
Medition is observation, no-judgement.
Just observe your enviornment, look at the ocean or the palm trees and just take it in. Just simply observe it, have no thought about it.
Go through your day, your week, your month, your life just observing and you will be in the State of Meditation.
If you are unclear about anything or have any other questions, let me know, I'll be happy to help.. :-D
