What do you think is the hardest thing to change?

Posted on Jan 21st, 2008 by Mital : State Of Meditation Mital
This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for January 21, 2008:

I think the hardest thing to change is our habits.  We are creatures of habit, and these habits are so ingrained in our minds that it take a lot of effort to change them.

By definition a habit is something that doesn't change.  The habit most definitely no longer one once wechange our mind and take a different approachsuch as quitting smoking or biting fingernails.
Our own self determined decisions help end thoseformer cycles that became comfortable.
It does take effort hm?  and some discipline.

Kes, you right!  It took me some time to understand this, that's why it took me a while to reply to your comment.  But after coming back to it and re-reading it, I just got it!
Here is an example, when I start working, I usually put a nice background up on my screen.  Most of the time it's a ocean/beach background.  The other day I was sitting in my house, looking for a background picture of the ocean, because that's what I've been doing for a few years now.  Then I realized how ridiculous it was of me, being that I just moved to a new house, because of the beautiful OCEAN VIEW that it has!
Well I no longer have the habit of wasting work time, looking for beach backgrounds, I just step outside and work from the beach.  :-)
